Time savers:
-When making cookies, double the batch and freeze frozen cookie dough portions. Store the frozen cookie dough in individual cookie portions in a Ziploc bag with the name, baking temperature and baking time on the front. Pop them on to a baking sheet, let them thaw while the oven is preheating and then bake them about 2 minutes longer than what the recipe states.
-When making homemade soup, make a double-batch and freeze extras in a gallon freezer Ziploc bag. Pop the frozen bag into boiling water and within a few minutes you will have a quick, homemade tasty soup!
Cost savers:
-Buy nuts in bulk when they are on sale. Store extras in the freezer in a Ziploc bag or in an airtight, freezer-safe container. This will prevent the natural oils from going rancid.
-If you buy a lot of spinach or salad greens in bulk and you aren't going to eat them before they spoil, put the extras in freezer bags and freeze them to add to green smoothies.
